Edward Castronova (PhD, Economics, Wisconsin, 1991) is an Associate Professor and the Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Telecommunications at Indiana University, Bloomington. He is an expert on the economies of large-scale online games and has numerous publications on that topic, including a recent highly regarded book on the emerging metaverse industry entitled Synthetic Worlds: The Business and Culture of Online Games.
