Richard
Marks
Creator of the EyeToy
camera interface; Director of Special Projects,
Sony CEA R&D
Richard Marks majored in Avionics at MIT,
then got his PhD at Stanford
in the area of underwater robotics. After
school, he worked at a computer vision startup
that was later acquired by Autodesk. The unveiling
of PlayStation2 inspired Richard to join the
game industry, and he joined Sony Computer
Entertainment America R&D to explore real-time
video input for games.
He is credited as the inventor of EyeToy,
which now has over 9 million
units sold. His current research focus is
man-machine interfaces for
entertainment. |
