Journalist, Author "Only a Game: One Virtual Journalist, One Cyberspace Murder, and the Bleeding Edge Between Real and Online Worlds"
Mark Wallace's writing on virtual worlds, video games and other topics has appeared in The New York Times, the Financial Times, Wired, GQ and many other publications, as well as at his blog,Walkering.com. He writes a regular feature on virtual worlds for The Escapist (www.escapistmagazine.com), and since January 2005 has been Editorial Director of the Second LifeHerald (www.secondlifeherald.com), a popular online newspaper covering virtual worlds. With Herald publisher Peter Ludlow, he is the co-author of the forthcoming Only A Game: One Virtual Journalist, One Cyberspace Murder, and the Bleeding Edge Between Real and Online Worlds. He played his first video game, the text-based game Adventure, in 1978 on a PDP-11. He currently lives in Brooklyn. |
